NHTSA has the authority to investigate and take corrective action if they believe there are reporting inconsistencies with ADS operator SGO reports. The SGO reporting requirements include crashes with minor damage, which is a lower reporting threshold (more minor crashes are included) than traditional police-reported and insurance crash databases.
